Climate Dynamics

Under the leadership of Peter Webster and Judith Curry, CFAN scientists have a substantial record in conducting fundamental research on climate dynamics.  Of direct relevance to our forecast products and generation of regional climate scenarios, CFAN’s scientists are advancing research on:


  • Tropical climate dynamics:  monsoons, intertropical convergence zone, ocean dynamics

  • Documenting and understanding multi-decadal modes of climate variability

  • Understanding the dynamics of recent high-latitude climate variability and change
